Regular Season Round 15: Herford - Frintrop 82-69

The game between closely ranked teams ended with ninth ranked Herford's (7-7) home victory over 10th ranked Frintrop (5-10) 82-69 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Herford. Frintrop was better in second period 24-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Herford forced 19 Frintrop turnovers. It was a great evening for Spanish power forward Guillermo De La Puente (198-91) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds. American swingman Josh Micheaux (195-90, college: Georgia St.) helped adding 17 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. Four Herford players scored in double figures. Herford's coach Markus Roewenstrunk used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The best for the losing side was forward Kevin Kern (195-90) with 35 points (!!!) and American power forward Dijon Smith (203-89, college: Ft.Hays State) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Herford moved-up to seventh place in West. Newly promoted Frintrop keeps the tenth position with ten games lost. Herford will face Bielefeld (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Frintrop will play against Dorsten (#6) and hope to win that game.
