Regular Season Round 12: Horsholm - Lemvig 79-62

An exciting game was played in Horsholm. Second ranked Horsholm faced one of their biggest challengers Lemvig. Host Horsholm (7-3) defeated guests from Lemvig (6-4) 79-62. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Lemvig. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Horsholm's pressure prevailed and they won that period 22-9 extending their advantage to 17 points. Horsholm outrebounded Lemvig 37-23 including 23 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American forward Maryah Sydnor (185-93, college: Appalachian St.) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Serbian forward Ivana Jovanovic (185-85) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. Four Horsholm players scored in double figures. Horsholm's coach Jesper Krone Rasmussen used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Erin McDonnell (185-93, college: Harvard) who recorded 21 points and FYR Macedonian point guard Ivana Udovalieva (174-84) added 16 points respectively. Horsholm maintains second position with 7-3 record having just two points less than leader Virum. Lemvig at the other side keeps the third place with four games lost. They share the position with Amager. Horsholm will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Lemvig will play at home against Aabyhoj and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
