Regular Season Round 13: Siauliai-Univ. - Ukmerges 57-66

Ukmerges' fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after 13 consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Siauliai, where they defeated Siauliai-Univ. (6-8) 66-57. Siauliai-Univ. was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 37-27 second half run of Ukmerges. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Siauliai-Univ.'s 26. Ukmerges forced 22 Siauliai-Univ. turnovers. Aurelija Putramentaite (180-95) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and forward Martyna Petrenaite (181-98) chipped in 15 points and 11 rebounds. Four Ukmerges players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Livija Kaktaite (164-99) responded with 22 points and 5 rebounds and forward Urte Bukauskaite (180-94) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Newly promoted Ukmerges maintains seventh place with 1-13 record. It was Siauliai-Univ.'s third loss in a row. They keep the fifth position with eight games lost. Ukmerges will play against higher ranked Aistes-LSU (#6) in Kaunas in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Siauliai-Univ. will play on the road against Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
