Regular Season Round 14: Besiktas - Fenerbahce 76-79
Date: January 8, 2017
BSL round 14 most important game was a victory of Fenerbahce over second-ranked Besiktas 79-76 on Sunday night. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Besiktas. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Serbian swingman Bogdan Bogdanovic (198-92) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points. American forward James Nunnally (201-90, college: UCSB) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Serbian center Vladimir Stimac (210-87, agency: Interperformances) replied with 18 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and American forward Earl Clark (208-88, college: Louisville) added 10 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Besiktas. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Besiktas' coach Ufuk Sarica rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Fenerbahce (12-2) have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position, which they share with Anadolu Efes. Besiktas at the other side dropped to the third place with three games lost. Fenerbahce is looking forward to face bottom-ranked TED Kolejliler (#16) in Ankara in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Besiktas will play at home against the league's second-placed Anadolu Efes (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
