Regular Season Round 18: Gmunden - Arkadia 81-78

Sixth-ranked Arkadia Lions (6-10) were very close to win a game against second ranked Gmunden Swans (12-4) on Sunday. Gmunden Swans managed to secure only three-point victory 81-78. However their fans expected much easier game. Arkadia Lions trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 22-14 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 78-81 at the end of the game. Gmunden Swans looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. It was a good game for international forward Enis Murati (194-88, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Naturalized German power forward Tilo Klette (206-77) contributed with 24 points and 4 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winners. Argentinian-Italian forward Fabricio Vay (207-86, agency: Interperformances) replied with 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Montenegrin center Milovan Draskovic (211-95, agency: Interperformances) added 14 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Arkadia Lions. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gmunden Swans have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 12-4 record behind leader Oberwart. Arkadia Lions lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with ten games lost. Gmunden Swans are again looking forward to face Arkadia Lions (#7) in Traiskirchen in the next round where they are favorite. Arkadia Lions will have a break next round.
