Regular Season Round 12: Samsun - Mersin BSB 78-82

There was no surprise when 13th ranked Samsun (3-10) was defeated at home by eighth ranked Mersin BSB (7-6) 82-78. The winners were led by Lithuanian center Gintare Petronyte (196-89) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 31 points and 14 rebounds and American center Aneika Henry-Morello (193-86, college: Florida) supported her with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Even a double-double of 21 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists by Montenegrin-American swingman Eshaya Murphy (181-85, college: USC) did not help to save the game for Samsun. Swedish guard Frida Eldebrink (174-88) added 24 points and 5 assists. Four Samsun players scored in double figures. Mersin BSB moved-up to fifth place. Samsun at the other side keeps the thirteenth position with ten games lost. Mersin BSB's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Mersin Mersin MBK.
