Regular Season Round 15: Lich II - Limburg 74-88

The most interesting game of round 15 in the Regionalliga was a home defeat of 4th placed Lich II (9-5) to third ranked Limburg (10-4) 88-74. It ended the three-game winning streak of Lich II. It was a key game for the second position in South-West. Limburg had a 33-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for power forward Kevin Yebo (202-96) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points and 9 rebounds. Lithuanian point guard Julius Zurna (188-86) helped adding 28 points and 5 rebounds. Four Limburg players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international Johannes Lischka (203-87) with 26 points and 9 rebounds and forward Henning Schaake (201-95) scored 24 points and 6 rebounds. Lich II's coach Christian Knaus rotated twelve players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Limburg moved-up to second place in South-West, which they share with Speyer. Newly promoted Lich II dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. They share it with Karlsruhe SC and Koblenz. Limburg is looking forward to face league's second-placed Speyer at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Lich II will play against Karlsruhe SC (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
