Regular Season Round 17: Kirchheim - Uni Baskets 93-90

Tenth-ranked Uni Baskets (7-10) were very close to win a game against third ranked Kirchheim Knights (12-5) on Sunday. Kirchheim Knights managed to secure only three-point victory 93-90. However their fans expected much easier game. Kirchheim Knights made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Kirchheim Knights especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Forward Jonathon Williams (198-90, college: Wagner) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Guard Carrington Love (186-94, college: Green Bay) contributed with 18 points and 4 assists for the winners. Guard Matt Vest (195-92, college: Wright St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists and point guard Chase Adams (177-88, college: Pittsburgh) added 13 points and 10 assists in the effort for Uni Baskets. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Uni Baskets' coach Uli Naechster rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kirchheim Knights maintains third place with 12-5 record having just three points less than leader MBC. Uni Baskets lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with ten games lost. Kirchheim Knights will face Hamburg (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Uni Baskets will play against Gladiators in Trier and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
