Very predictable result in Angra Heroismo where second ranked Terceira (9-2) outscored 8th ranked Academia (3-10) 75-51 on Sunday. Terceira looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Academia's players. American guard Isaiah Ivey (188-93, college: Gardner-Webb) fired 27 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Forward Mohamed Camara (196-83) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds. Four Terceira players scored in double figures. Terceira's coach Daniel Brandao felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Carlos Tavares (194-84) produced 9 points and 14 rebounds and forward Ba Cassama (195-85) added 18 points respectively for lost side. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Terceira. They maintain second place in Group South with 9-2 record behind leader Barreirense. Loser Academia keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. Terceira will face Angrabasket (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Academia's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Lisboa Benfica B.
