Regular Season Round 15: BC Timisoara - Steaua CSM 86-82

The biggest surprise took place in Timisoara where host BC Timisoara (8-6) beat league's leader Steaua CSM (11-2) 86-82 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Steaua CSM. The hosts trailed by 8 points after three quarters before their 26-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. BC Timisoara made 28-of-31 free shots (90.3 percent) during the game, while Steaua CSM only scored eleven points from the stripe. BC Timisoara looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 28 personal fouls committed by Steaua CSM helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. BC Timisoara have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Oradea and Targu Mures. Steaua CSM at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by UBT Cluj Napoca who have the same record. Steaua CSM will play next round against Oradea trying to make it back to the top of the standings. BC Timisoara will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Pitesti on the road.
