ProB round 14 most important game was a victory of Weissenhorn Youngstars over second-ranked Bayer Giants 91-76 on Sunday night. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Bayer Giants. It was a key game for the second position in South. Weissenhorn Youngstars made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Hungarian point guard Marcell Pongo (194-97) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Power forward Nils Mittmann (201-79) contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American guard Kerry Carter (188-91, college: St.Mary's, CA) replied with 31 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and swingman Tim Schonborn (193-90) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Bayer Giants. Bayer Giants' coach Achim Kuczmann rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Weissenhorn Youngstars (10-4) have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in South. Bayer Giants at the other side dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. Weissenhorn Youngstars are looking forward to face Giants (#12) in Noerdlingen in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
