Regular Season Round 8: Beroe - Haskovo 2012 83-78

There was a change at the NBL leadership position after last games. Round 8 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Haskovo 2012 (5-2). They were defeated by fourth ranked Beroe (3-3) 83-78 on Thursday night. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Haskovo 2012. Beroe made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Haskovo 2012 turnovers and had a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American Monique Reid (185-90, college: Louisville, agency: Gamble Sports Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds and the other American import swingman Jazmine Perkins (178-89, college: Washington St.) who added 13 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Beroe's coach Tatyana Gateva used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American-Puerto Rican point guard Jennifer O'Neill (168-90, college: Kentucky) responded with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and Bahamas center Waltiea Rolle (198-90, college: N.Carolina) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds. Beroe moved-up to third place, which they share with Neftochimic. Haskovo 2012 at the other side dropped to the second position with two games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Montana 2003. Haskovo 2012 will play next round against strong Neftochimic trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Beroe will try to continue on its current victory against first ranked Montana 2003 on the road.
