Regular Season Round 16: Ansbach - Herzogenaurach 92-78

There was no surprise when 13th ranked Herzogenaurach (3-12) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked Ansbach (6-9) 92-78 on Saturday. Ansbach made 22-of-24 free shots (91.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Herzogenaurach turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Nick Freer (198-85, college: Grand Valley St.) who helped to win the game recording 34 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and guard Christopher Roll (180-93) who added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Ansbach's coach Dean Jenko used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. At the losing side Robert Zinn (197-95) responded with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists and Croatian point guard Vedran Nakic (184-89) scored 14 points. Four Herzogenaurach players scored in double figures. Ansbach moved-up to eighth place in South-East, which they share with Oberhaching. Herzogenaurach lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 12 games lost. Ansbach will face higher ranked Jena II (#7) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Herzogenaurach will play against Zwickau (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
