No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Ovarense (7-8) beat 11th ranked Lusitania (3-12) in Angra 78-73 on Saturday. It was a good game for Austrian-American forward Bryce Douvier (201-91, college: Texas A&M-CC) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds. American point guard Nick Novak (182-90, college: Pitt-Johnstown, agency: Dynamics Global Management) contributed with 24 points and 6 assists for the winners. Point guard Miguel Freitas (177-90) answered with 19 points and 5 steals and American forward Garrius Holloman (198-89, college: Beth.-Cookman) added 17 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Lusitania. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ovarense moved-up to seventh place, which they share with CAB Madeira. Lusitania lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with 12 games lost. Ovarense will face bottom-ranked Sampaense (#12) in Coimbra in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Lusitania will play on the road against Maia Basket and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
