Regular Season Round 16: Bielefeld - Herford 91-81

There was an upset when higher ranked Herford (7-8) was defeated on the road by fourteenth ranked Bielefeld (2-14) 91-81 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of Dutch point guard Dyon Doekhi (188-87) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and point guard Bastian Landgraf (194-95) who added 17 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Spanish power forward Guillermo De La Puente (198-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 18 rebounds and American swingman Josh Micheaux (195-90, college: Georgia St.) scored 16 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals. Five Bielefeld and four Herford players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Bielefeld maintains fourteenth position in West with 2-14 record. Loser Herford keeps the seventh place with eight games lost. Bielefeld will face higher ranked Dorsten (#5) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
