Eleventh-ranked Mersin MBK (4-8) was very close to win a game against fifth ranked Mersin BSB (8-6) on Saturday. Mersin BSB managed to secure only three-point victory 67-64. However their fans expected much easier game. Mersin BSB forced 19 Mersin MBK turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The former international point guard Nilay Kartaltepe (172-79) nailed a double-double by scoring 10 points, 12 assists and 5 steals for the winning side and American guard Danielle Robinson (178-89, college: Oklahoma) accounted for 16 points and 6 assists. Four Mersin BSB players scored in double figures. Ukrainian Olesia Malashenko (191-91, agency: LBM Management) came up with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American center Michelle Snow (196-80, college: Tennessee, agency: LBM Management) added 11 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Mersin MBK in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Mersin BSB. They maintain fifth place with 8-6 record. Mersin MBK lost their fourth game in a row.
