Regular Season Round 24: Kryvbas - Mykolaiv 83-54

The game with biggest result difference took place in Kryvyi Rih. Local Kryvbas (15-5) outscored 8th ranked Mykolaiv (8-13) 83-54 on Sunday night. The game was mostly controlled by Kryvbas. Mykolaiv managed to win fourth quarter 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Mykolaiv to just 7 points in first and second quarters and to 14 points in first half. Kryvbas dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Mykolaiv's 30. They outrebounded Mykolaiv 53-31 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Kryvbas looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of forward Dmitri Lipovtsev (203-86) who helped to win the game recording 10 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and international swingman Dmytro Gliebov (198-88) who added 9 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Four Kryvbas players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was center Oleksandr Kushnirov (210-92) with 15 points and point guard Vladyslav Tonchenko (185-89) scored 7 points and 7 assists. Mykolaiv's coach Sergei Kirlan gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Kryvbas have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 15-5 record having just one point less than leader Khimik. Loser Mykolaiv keeps the eighth place with 13 games lost. Kryvbas will meet at home Dnipro (#4) in the next round. Mykolaiv will play against Zaporizhya (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
