Regular Season Round 13: Marburg - Hannover 75-69

There was no surprise when 6th ranked Hannover (6-7) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked BC Pharmaserv Marburg (8-5) 75-69 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 11 points at the halftime before their 49-32 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. BC Pharmaserv Marburg made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Hannover turnovers. The former international power forward Svenja Greunke (188-89) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and American guard Katlyn Yohn (181-91, college: Bradley) chipped in 20 points and 10 rebounds. Four BC Pharmaserv Marburg players scored in double figures. At the losing side American Melissa Jeltema (175-88, college: Oakland) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds and forward Stefanie Grigoleit (186-89) scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. BC Pharmaserv Marburg maintains fourth place with 8-5 record. Newly promoted Hannover keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. BC Pharmaserv Marburg will meet league's leader Gruner Stern Keltern on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hannover will play against ChemCats Chemnitz (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
