Regular Season Round 14: SISU - Aabyhoj 62-69

Date: January 15, 2017
Bottom-ranked Aabyhoj managed to get a second victory, breaking the four-game losing streak. This time they won against fifth-ranked SISU in Copenhagen 69-62. It looked good early as SISU took a 7-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Aabyhoj had a 15-6 second period charge getting the lead and SISU was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 62-69. They dominated on the defensive end, holding SISU to just 6 points in second quarter. Aabyhoj forced 19 SISU turnovers. American Mariyah Henley (-94) notched a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Camilla Andersen (166-92) supported her with 17 points. Even 25 points by American guard Jazmine Redmon (173-91, college: Gonzaga) did not help to save the game for SISU. Forward Cecilie Jessen (180-96) added 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the hosts. SISU's coach Morten Thomsen rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Aabyhoj maintains seventh position with 2-10 record. SISU at the other side keeps the fifth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Stevnsgade. Aabyhoj will play against league's second-placed Horsholm at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. SISU will play against Stevnsgade and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
