2. Bundesliga top team - Goettingen (11-2) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat tenth ranked TuSLi Berlin (3-10) in Lichterfelde 71-58. TuSLi Berlin was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Goettingen forced 21 TuSLi Berlin turnovers. Trinidad and Tobago center Verdine Warner (196-92, college: Shaw) nailed a double-double by scoring 21 points and 18 rebounds for the winning side and Czech guard Katarina Flasarova (171-85) accounted for 22 points and 4 steals. Center Nyara Sabally (185-0) came up with 11 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Jenny Menz (184-91, college: UTSA) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively for TuSLi Berlin in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Goettingen have a solid series of four victories in a row. Despite that victory Goettingen went down to second position (North) due to points difference, which they share with Wolfenbuettel and Neuss. TuSLi Berlin lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with ten games lost. Goettingen will play against Barmer TV (#11) in Wuppertal in the next round and are hoping to win another game. TuSLi Berlin will play on the road against the league's leader B.Loewen and hopes to get back on the winning track.
