Regular Season Round 19: Dresden - Nuernberg 67-96

Everything went according to plan in Dresden where eleventh ranked Nuernberg (7-12) outleveled bottom-ranked Titans (2-18) 96-67 on Tuesday. Nuernberg shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Titans' players. It was a great evening for American guard Joshua Young (185-88, college: Drake) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). His fellow American import point guard Diante Watkins (174-90, college: Robert Morris) helped adding 13 points and 9 assists. At the losing side American point guard Randal Holt (185-91, college: Kent St.) responded with 12 points and Helge Baues (205-94) scored 13 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Titans' coach already knew that his team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Despite that victory Nuernberg went down to twelfth position due to points difference. Titans lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 18 lost games. Nuernberg will meet Ehingen/Urspringschule (#14) in the next round. Titans will play against Koeln Rh.Stars and hope to secure a win.
