Everything went according to plan when ninth ranked Mersin Uni (13-7) won against at home 14th ranked Yalova Vip (7-13) 66-56. Mersin Uni dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Yalova Vip's 30. Mersin Uni forced 23 Yalova Vip turnovers. Strangely Yalova Vip outrebounded Mersin Uni 45-33 including 34 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. The winners were led by point guard Merve Uygul (170-88) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 13 points, 6 rebounds, 12 assists and 5 steals and American center Sasha Goodlett (195-90, college: Georgia Tech) supported her with 19 points and 8 rebounds. Four Mersin Uni players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 19 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists by forward Ebru Torun (-87) did not help to save the game for Yalova Vip. Serbian power forward Bojana Vulic (191-84, agency: Promotex) added 9 points and 14 rebounds for the guests. Yalova Vip's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Mersin Uni have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Elazig and Mersin Gelisim. Yalova Vip lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 13 games lost. Mersin Uni's next round opponent will be Nevsehir Uni (#17) on the road and are hoping to win another game. Yalova Vip will play against Edirne and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
