Not a big story in a game in Langen where 10th ranked ASC Theresianum Mainz (2-11) was outplayed by seventh ranked Rhein Main Baskets (6-6) 73-50 on Saturday. The game without a history. Rhein Main Baskets led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Rhein Main Baskets forced 20 ASC Theresianum Mainz turnovers and outrebounded them 47-34 including 18 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was Lyndi Laborn who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds. Bosnian power forward Anja Stupar (180-89) chipped in 5 points and 16 rebounds. Four Rhein Main Baskets players scored in double figures. Forward Eva Marschall (182-91) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and naturalized Bulgarian guard Gergana Georgieva (181-87) added 7 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rhein Main Baskets moved-up to fifth place in South, which they share with Speyer and Weiterstadt. ASC Theresianum Mainz lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 11 games lost. Rhein Main Baskets will face Weiterstadt (#7) on the road in the next round. ASC Theresianum Mainz will play against Speyer / Schifferstadt and hope to win that game.
