Regular Season Round 15: Tofas - Pinar Karsiyaka 80-86

Not a big story in a game in Bursa where 9th ranked Tofas (6-9) was defeated by sixth ranked Pinar Karsiyaka (9-6) 86-80 on Saturday. Pinar Karsiyaka dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Tofas' 28 and made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Tofas 34-23 including 24 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American forward DaJuan Summers (203-88, college: Georgetown) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard J'Covan Brown (188-90, college: Texas) helped adding 14 points and 9 assists. The best for the losing side was the former international point guard Baris Ermis (194-85) with 16 points and 8 assists and the former international power forward Kaya Peker (207-80, agency: Court Side) scored 7 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Pinar Karsiyaka and four Tofas players scored in double figures. Pinar Karsiyaka maintains sixth place with 9-6 record, which they share with Galatasaray. Newly promoted Tofas keeps the ninth position with nine games lost. Pinar Karsiyaka will face higher ranked Banvit (#4) in Balikesir in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tofas will play at home against Darussafaka (#5) and hope to win that game.
