Second Stage Round 4: Nafta-Uni. - Perlas-MRU 81-72

There was no surprise in Klaipeda where 5th ranked Perlas-MRU (17-11) was defeated by second ranked Nafta-Uni. (22-8) 81-72. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Nafta-Uni. dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Perlas-MRU's 30. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Perlas-MRU was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Viktoras Chodosovskis (200-89) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Benas Bagdonavicius (198-99) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Nafta-Uni. players scored in double figures. Guard Margiris Normantas (193-96) replied with 23 points and 6 assists and Martynas Maskolaitis (200-97) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Perlas-MRU. Perlas-MRU's coach Arvydas Gronskis rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Nafta-Uni. maintains second position with 22-8 record having just eight point less than leader Suduva-Mantinga. Perlas-MRU at the other side keeps the fifth place with 11 games lost. Nafta-Uni. will play against Telsiai (#3) in Telsiu in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Perlas-MRU will play on the road against Silute and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
