Regular Season Round 15: Lukoil Acad. - Spartak Pleven 104-71

NBL top team - Lukoil Acad. (12-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fifth ranked Spartak Pleven (6-7) in Sofia 104-71. Lukoil Acad. dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Spartak Pleven's 38 and made 17-of-19 charity shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Lukoil Acad. had a 30-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was a quality performance for the former international swingman Hristo Zahariev (197-90) who led the winners and scored 22 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). International Kris Minkov (199-94) accounted for 12 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Four Lukoil Acad. players scored in double figures. Lukoil Acad. have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 12-2 record. Spartak Pleven at the other side dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. Lukoil Acad. will play against league's second-placed Beroe in Stara Zagora in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Spartak Pleven will play at home against Academik Plovdiv (#3) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
