Not a big story in a game when 16th ranked Walter Tigers (4-15) lost to twelfth ranked Science City Jena (8-10) in Tuebingen 68-76. Science City Jena made 24-of-30 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. American players dominated also this game. It was a great evening for guard Marcos Knight (188-89, college: Middle Tenn.St., agency: BeoBasket) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his eight free throws). Forward Shaquille Goodwin (206-94, college: Memphis) helped adding 20 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Four Science City Jena players scored in double figures. Science City Jena's coach Bjoern Harmsen allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side center Gary McGhee (209-88, college: Pittsburgh) responded with 8 points and 10 rebounds and forward Stanton Kidd (202-92, college: Colorado St.) scored 14 points. Science City Jena moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Goettingen. Walter Tigers lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the sixteenth position with 15 games lost. Science City Jena will play against Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (#14) on the road in the next round. Walter Tigers will play against Deutsche Bank Skyliners in Frankfurt and hope to get back on the winning track.
