Regular Season Round 15: Rilski - Beroe 101-85

The game between second ranked Beroe (9-4) and sixth ranked Rilski (7-7) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Beroe was defeated by Rilski in Samokov 101-85. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Beroe. Rilski made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Rilski especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Beroe helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American forward Evan Bruinsma (202-92, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: Inception Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). The former international guard Yordan Bozov (191-79) helped adding 18 points and 7 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Five Rilski players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international Tihomir Zhelev (193-90) with 22 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American guard Brandis Raley-Ross (191-87, college: S.Carolina) scored 9 points and 7 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rilski moved-up to fifth place. Beroe at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost. They share it with Akademik PL. Rilski will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Beroe will play at home against the league's leader Lukoil Acad. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
