Regular Season Round 15: Krivbas-2 - Dnipro-2 99-70

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Kryvyi Rih. First ranked Krivbas-2 faced 4th placed Dnipro-2. Host Krivbas-2 (14-2) smashed guests from Dnepropetrovsk (6-10) 99-70. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 99-70. Krivbas-2 made 27-of-33 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game, while Dnipro-2 only scored eleven points from the stripe. Krivbas-2 forced 26 Dnipro-2 turnovers and outrebounded them 45-28 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Dnipro-2's players. It was a great evening for guard Evgeni Sergeychik (185-94) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 6 assists. Power forward Artem Vodolaztcky (194-92) helped adding 16 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was point guard Georgiy Altuhov (180-96) with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Artem Lushan (195-97) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Five Krivbas-2 and four Dnipro-2 players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Krivbas-2. They maintain first place with 14-2 record, which they share with Hoverla. Newly promoted Dnipro-2 dropped to the fifth position with ten games lost. Krivbas-2 will meet at home league's second-placed Azovmash in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Dnipro-2 will play against Niko-Basket and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
