The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Istanbul: Anadolu Efes (#2) and Besiktas (#3). Besiktas was defeated at home 83-93 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Anadolu Efes looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Derrick Brown (203-87, college: Xavier) who led his team to a victory scoring 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. French guard Thomas Heurtel (189-89, agency: BeoBasket) helped adding 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was Serbian center Vladimir Stimac (210-87, agency: Interperformances) with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and American point guard Michael Thompson (177-89, college: Northwestern) scored 12 points and 9 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Anadolu Efes (13-2) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Fenerbahce. Besiktas at the other side keeps the third place with four games lost. They share the position with Darussafaka and Banvit BK. Anadolu Efes' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Istanbul Istanbul BBSK.
