The game had a very big importance for third-ranked RW Cuxhaven as it allowed them to take a leadership position in North. RW Cuxhaven smashed 6th ranked Rendsburg at home 106-60. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Rendsburg. RW Cuxhaven dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Rendsburg's 32. RW Cuxhaven forced 20 Rendsburg turnovers. They shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. Croatian point guard Luka Petkovic (190-88) nailed 38 points (!!!), 8 assists and 5 steals for the winning side and Serbian-Croatian Sinisa Cvetanovic (205-94) accounted for 22 points and 10 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Four RW Cuxhaven players scored in double figures. RW Cuxhaven's coach Moris Hadzija felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American swingman Martell Collins (196-93, college: SW Oklahoma St.) came up with 22 points and center Christopher Geist (208-95) added 5 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Rendsburg in the defeat. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for RW Cuxhaven. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Rendsburg at the other side keeps the sixth place with six games lost. Rendsburg will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. RW Cuxhaven will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Aschersleben on the road.
