Regular Season Round 19: Nuernberg - Uni Baskets 71-75

Everything could happen in Nurnberg at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked Uni Baskets and 11th ranked Nuernberg had identical 7-11 record. But Nuernberg was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Paderborn 75-71 on Sunday night. Uni Baskets outrebounded Nuernberg 40-23 including 28 on the defensive glass. The game was dominated by American players. It was a great evening for forward Morgan Grim (203-88, college: Utah St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Chase Adams (177-88, college: Pittsburgh) helped adding 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Uni Baskets players scored in double figures. Uni Baskets' coach Uli Naechster used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side point guard Diante Watkins (174-90, college: Robert Morris) responded with 27 points and forward Andre Calvin (201-85, college: Drake) scored 17 points. Uni Baskets (8-11) moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Hamburg. Loser Nuernberg dropped to the twelfth position with 12 games lost. Uni Baskets will meet at home ETB Wohnbau (#15) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Nuernberg will play against Ehingen/Urspringschule in Allmendingen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
