Regular Season Round 14: Donau-Ries - Herner 82-76

Date: January 22, 2017
An interesting game was also surprising road defeat of 5th ranked Herner TC in a game in Noerdlingen versus TH Wohnbau Angels (#8) 82-76. Herner TC trailed by 15 points after 3 quarters before a 29-20 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 76-82 at the end of the game. Canadian forward Kim Pierre-Louis (183-93, college: Massachusetts) notched a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and American guard Jennifer Schlott (168-91, college: Utah St., agency: LBM Management) supported her with 17 points. Even 18 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) by American forward Kristi Bellock (185-90, college: Texas A&M) did not help to save the game for Herner TC. The former international power forward Sonja Greinacher (188-92, college: Gonzaga) added 15 points for the guests. Five TH Wohnbau Angels and four Herner TC players scored in double figures. Herner TC's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. TH Wohnbau Angels have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Bad Aibling. Loser Herner TC keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with Hannover. TH Wohnbau Angels will meet higher ranked TV Saarlouis Royals (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Herner TC will play against Rotenburg/Scheessel and hope to secure a win.
