Seventh-ranked Oettinger Rockets Gotha (10-9) made lots of trouble for second ranked Crailsheim Merlins (15-4) on Tuesday. The visitors from Crailsheim managed to secure only two-point victory 85-83. However their fans expected much easier game. American point guard Christopher Dunn (189-83, college: W.Virginia St., agency: Inception Sports) fired 28 points, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. The former international forward Konrad Wysocki (202-82, college: Princeton) chipped in 6 points and 11 rebounds. Four Crailsheim Merlins players scored in double figures. Crailsheim Merlins' coach Tuomas Iisalo used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American-Ivorian forward Dane Watts (203-86) produced 23 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and American guard Grant Gibbs (196-89, college: Creighton) added 22 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Crailsheim Merlins have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain second place with 15-4 record having just two points less than leader MBC. Oettinger Rockets Gotha at the other side keeps the seventh position with nine games lost. They share it with Trier. Crailsheim Merlins are looking forward to face Gladiators (#8) in Trier in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Oettinger Rockets Gotha will play on the road against Kirchheim Knights and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
