There was a minor upset when 4th placed Rasai (19-12) lost to sixth ranked Silute (17-14) in Raseiniai 96-100 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 22-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 100-96. Silute made 25-of-31 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Rasai turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. American guard Ulysses Thomas (190-92, college: Kentucky St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points. His fellow American import guard Brian Wanamaker (185-89, college: Texas Wesleyan) contributed with 21 points and 4 assists for the winners. Wanamaker is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Silute's coach Robertas Kuncaitis used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Point guard Tomas Galeckas (183-94) answered with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and power forward Sarunas Beniusis (206-93) added 25 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) in the effort for Rasai. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Silute have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain sixth place with 17-14 record. Rasai lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with 12 games lost. Silute will have a break next round. Rasai will play at home against Perlas-MRU (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
