Regular Season Round 16: Aistes-LSU - Kibirkstis 60-78

The game in Kaunas supposed to be also worth to mention about. Second ranked Kibirkstis (13-3) played at the court of 5th ranked Aistes-LSU (6-10). Kibirkstis did not have too big problems ending evening with a very confident victory 78-60. The game without a history. Kibirkstis led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Aistes-LSU's 32. They outrebounded Aistes-LSU 38-27 including 29 on the defensive glass. Kibirkstis players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Vita Kuktiene (185-80) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 5 rebounds and center Ieva Savickaite (190-96) who added 10 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Kibirkstis players scored in double figures. Kibirkstis' coach Jurgita Streimikyte used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side guard Dovile Saurazaite (174-92) responded with 17 points and 5 assists and Klaudija Serkeviciute (170-99) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Kibirkstis have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 13-3 record behind leader Suduva. Aistes-LSU at the other side keeps the fifth place with ten games lost. Kibirkstis will play against Fortuna (#4) in Klaipeda in the next round. Aistes-LSU's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kaunas Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas.
