Regular Season Round 16: Besiktas - TED Kolejliler 93-52

Bottom-ranked TED Kolejliler (0-16) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 93-52 loss to third ranked Besiktas (12-4) in Istanbul on Saturday evening. They also forced 21 TED Kolejliler turnovers and outrebounded them 43-29 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Kenan Sipahi (197-95) who helped to win the game recording 11 points and 6 assists and American forward Earl Clark (208-88, college: Louisville) who added 11 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Five Besiktas players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Shannon Shorter (193-89, college: N.Texas) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Ian Hummer (201-90, college: Princeton) scored 14 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Besiktas maintains third position with 12-4 record having just two points less than leader Fenerbahce. Loser TED Kolejliler still closes the standings. Besiktas will meet Usak Sportlif (#14) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. TED Kolejliler will play against the league's second-placed Anadolu Efes and hopes to get finally their first victory.
