Regular Season Round 15: Neuss - Osnabruecker TB 65-69

Very important is a home loss of third ranked TG Neuss (11-4) against ninth ranked Osnabruecker (6-9) on Saturday night. Host TG Neuss were defeated by Osnabruecker in a tough game in Neuss 65-69. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Osnabruecker forced 23 TG Neuss turnovers. It was a great evening for forward Janina Wellers (180-88) who led her team to a victory scoring 20 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). American guard Elizabeth Belanger (178-94, college: New Hampshire) helped adding 15 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was power forward Jana Heinrich (188-86, college: San Diego St.) with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and American guard Dara Taylor (173-91, college: Penn St.) scored 17 points and 8 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Osnabruecker have a solid series of three victories in a row. Newly promoted Osnabruecker maintains ninth place in North with 6-9 record. TG Neuss at the other side keep the third position with four games lost. Osnabruecker will play against league's leader Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. TG Neuss will play against SG BBZ Opladen in Leverkusen and hope to get back on the winning track.
