Regular Season Round 17: Oliveirense - Vitoria SC 67-64

The most exciting game of round 17 in the LPB took place in Oliveira. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 3rd placed Vitoria SC (12-5) to fourth ranked Oliveirense (12-5) 67-64 in the game for the third place. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Vitoria SC. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward James Ellisor (195-90, college: Bemidji St.) who scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Swingman Carlos Morris (196-92, college: Minnesota, agency: AproK Sports Group) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Andrew Ferry (190-90, college: Cornell) produced 15 points and 7 rebounds and forward Victor Moses (201-89, college: Georgetown, KY) added 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively for the guests. Vitoria SC's coach Fernando Sa rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Oliveirense have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Vitoria SC. Oliveirense is looking forward to face league's second-placed Benfica on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Vitoria SC will play against the league's leader FC Porto Ferpinta and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
