Regular Season Round 15: TuSLi Berlin - Krofdorf/Gleib. 66-51

There was a surprise result when tenth ranked TuSLi Berlin (4-11) won against higher ranked Krofdorf/Gleib. (8-7) in Lichterfelde 66-51 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by TuSLi Berlin. Krofdorf/Gleib. was better in fourth quarter 17-8. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Krofdorf/Gleib. to just 7 points in third quarter. TuSLi Berlin forced 22 Krofdorf/Gleib. turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when TuSLi Berlin made 7 blocks. It was a good game for point guard Kristin Greiner (169-89) who led her team to a victory with 16 points and 5 assists. Center Nyara Sabally (185-0) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. TuSLi Berlin's coach Alexandra Maerz used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Chelsea Small (185, college: Indiana St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and Roos Hof (183-94) added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Krofdorf/Gleib.TuSLi Berlin maintains tenth place in North with 4-11 record. Krofdorf/Gleib. lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. TuSLi Berlin will face higher ranked Baskets Grunberg (#8) in Gruenberg in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Krofdorf/Gleib. will play at home against B.Loewen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
