Regular Season Round 16: Tofas - Darussafaka 83-66

We should mention about the upset which took place in Bursa, where higher ranked Darussafaka (11-5) lost to tenth ranked Tofas (7-9) in a road game 66-83. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Darussafaka. Tofas shot 62.0 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Tofas especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. The winners were led by Dominican-American swingman Sammy Mejia (198-83, college: De Paul) who scored that evening 15 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Tony Crocker (200-87, college: Oklahoma) supported him with 17 points. Four Tofas players scored in double figures. Even 18 points and 8 rebounds by French Adrien Moerman (202-88) did not help to save the game for Darussafaka. American guard Brad Wanamaker (193-89, college: Pittsburgh) added 16 points and 5 assists for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Tofas moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Gaziantep and Yesilgiresun. Darussafaka at the other side keeps the fourth position with five games lost. Tofas' next round opponent will be higher ranked Galatasaray (#7) in Istanbul and it may be quite challenging game. Darussafaka will play at home against Banvit and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
