Regular Season Round 16: Anadolu Efes - Istanbul BBSK 106-67

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Istanbul BBSK (6-10) was crushed on the road by second ranked Anadolu Efes (14-2) 106-67. They made 18-of-21 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Anadolu Efes outrebounded Istanbul BBSK 37-26 including 25 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The winners were led by American forward Tyler Honeycutt (203-90, college: UCLA) who scored that evening 12 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import forward DeShaun Thomas (201-91, college: Ohio St.) supported him with 18 points. Five Anadolu Efes players scored in double figures. Even 17 points by Slovenian swingman Jaka Klobucar (198-87) did not help to save the game for Istanbul BBSK. American guard Sean Armand (196-91, college: Iona) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Anadolu Efes have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Fenerbahce. Istanbul BBSK at the other side keeps the eleventh place with ten games lost. Anadolu Efes' next round opponent will be bottom-ranked TED Kolejliler (#16) in Ankara which should be another easy win for them. Istanbul BBSK will play at home against the league's leader Fenerbahce (#1) and hope to win that game.
