Second Stage Round 6: Rasai - Perlas-MRU 80-66

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Perlas-MRU's (17-14) road loss to fourth ranked Rasai (20-12) 66-80. Perlas-MRU was ahead by 4 points at the halftime before a 40-22 second half run of Rasai. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Perlas-MRU to just 7 points in third quarter. Guard Sarunas Vingelis (191-89) notched 23 points to lead the effort and point guard Tomas Galeckas (183-94) supported him with 21 points. Even a double-double of 15 points and 13 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) by forward Domantas Pipiras (203-91) did not help to save the game for Perlas-MRU. Guard Karolis Giedraitis (193-98) added 8 points and 4 assists. Perlas-MRU's coach Arvydas Gronskis rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rasai maintains fourth position with 20-12 record. Perlas-MRU lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Silute and Zalgiris II. Rasai will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Perlas-MRU will play at home against Telsiai (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
