Rather predictable result when eighth ranked Mersin Uni (15-7) defeated at home 11th ranked Urla BLD (10-12) 58-50. They outrebounded Urla BLD 40-29 including 28 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Sasha Goodlett (195-90, college: Georgia Tech) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international forward Ilkay Masa (186-84) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Ukrainian center Olena Staschuk (192-85) replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and center Berrin Karabas (190-87) added 14 points in the effort for Urla BLD. Mersin Uni have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place. Urla BLD at the other side keeps the eleventh position with 12 games lost. Mersin Uni's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked 55 Genclik (#20) in Samsun which should be an easy win for them. Urla BLD will play at home against Edirne (#14) and hope to win that game.
