There was a small surprise in Ankara where ninth ranked Turk Telekom (11-10) beat 7th ranked Samsun (13-8) 69-56. 25 personal fouls committed by Samsun helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Ahmet Cantitiz (193-92) nailed 23 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winning side and American point guard Tywain McKee (188-86, college: Coppin St.) accounted for 23 points and 10 rebounds. American point guard Jerry Smith (188-87, college: Louisville, agency: HMS) came up with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Mikael Hopkins (206, college: Georgetown) added 8 points and 13 rebounds respectively for Samsun in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Turk Telekom maintains ninth place with 11-10 record. Newly promoted Samsun keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. Turk Telekom's next round opponent will be Duzce Belediye (#16) on the road and are hoping to win another game.
