Regular Season Round 22: Izmit - Orduspor 98-74

Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Izmit (17-5) outscored at home 10th ranked Orduspor (11-11) 98-74. Izmit players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was a very good performance for American center Whitney Jones (183-87, college: Arkansas, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Deniz Dogan (176-94, agency: 1x1 Sports) contributed with 23 points for the winners. Five Izmit players scored in double figures. Izmit's coach felt very confident using 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Jamaican-American power forward Yanique Gordon (193-91, college: Cent.Florida) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds and guard Tugce Kanat (173-85) added 20 points and 10 assists in the effort for Orduspor. Izmit have a solid four-game winning streak. Newly promoted Izmit maintains fourth position with 17-5 record. Orduspor at the other side keeps the tenth place with 11 games lost. Izmit's next round opponent will be Istanbulgucu (#16) on the road which should be another easy win for them. Orduspor will play against the league's leader Bornova (#1) and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the KBSL just one year after relegation.
