Regular Season Round 19: BC Timisoara - Oradea 85-84

Important game to mention about took place in Timisoara. Sixth ranked BC Timisoara (11-7) saved a 1-point victory at home edging 4th placed Oradea (10-7) 85-84 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Oradea. Oradea was ahead by 5 points at the halftime before a 20-11 third quarter run of BC Timisoara. They also forced 19 Oradea turnovers. Oradea was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American swingman Jonte Flowers (196-85, college: Winona St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 7 rebounds. The former international center Ionut Dragusin (221-85) helped adding 10 points and 11 rebounds. At the losing side Canadian center Sean Denison (210-85, college: Santa Clara, agency: 011 Sports) responded with 20 points and 9 rebounds and Bosnian guard Muhamed Pasalic (192-87) scored 17 points. Four BC Timisoara and five Oradea players scored in double figures. Oradea's coach Cristian Achim let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the third consecutive win for BC Timisoara. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Pitesti. Defending champion Oradea dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. BC Timisoara will play against bottom-ranked Olimpic (#11) in Baia Mare in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Oradea will play on the road against CS Dinamo Bucuresti (#9) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
