Regular Season Round 19: BSW Sixers - Vechta II 80-98

There was a small surprise when fifth ranked Vechta-2 (8-5) defeated 3rd placed Sixers (9-4) in Sandersdorf 98-80 on Saturday. Vechta-2 looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Sixers' players. It was a very good performance for American forward Kazembe Abif (201-92, college: Drexel) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Croatian center Neven Zeravica (205-88, college: W.Virg.Wesl.) contributed with 22 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Abif is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Vechta-2 players scored in double figures. American forward Terrence Williams (198-93, college: Charlotte) answered with 17 points (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and Czech center Jaroslav Tyrna (207-86, college: New Orleans, agency: Octagon Europe) added 9 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Sixers. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Vechta-2. They maintain fifth place in North with 8-5 record. Loser Sixers keep the third position with four games lost. Vechta-2 will face Rendsburg (#6) at home in the next round. Sixers will play against Hannover Korb. and hope to win that game.
