Regular Season Round 22: Stevnsgade - Horsens IC 63-84

Date: February 4, 2017
Ligaen top team - Horsens IC (18-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eighth ranked Stevnsgade (0-19) 84-63. It looked good early as Stevnsgade took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Horsens IC had a 27-18 second period charge getting the lead and Stevnsgade was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 63-84. American power forward Will Artino (211-92, college: Creighton) notched 13 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and point guard Oscar Jorgensen (185-98) supported him with 18 points. Four Horsens IC players scored in double figures. Horsens IC's coach Arnel Dedic felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 10 points and 15 rebounds by American power forward Davie Champagnie (206-90, college: Martin Methodist) did not help to save the game for Stevnsgade. His fellow American import forward Nathan Gibbs (204-89, college: Westmont) added 14 points for lost side. Horsens IC have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 18-2 record. Stevnsgade at the other side still closes the standings. Horsens IC will play against Naestved (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Stevnsgade will play against the league's second-placed Bakken (#2) in Aarhus and hopes to get finally their first victory.
