Second Stage Round 8: Ezerunas-Karys - Zalgiris II 72-59

Bottom-ranked Ezerunas-Karys managed to get a eighth victory, breaking the three-game losing streak. This time they won against eighth-ranked Zalgiris II in Moletai 72-59. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Zalgiris II. It looked good early as Zalgiris II took a 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Ezerunas-Karys took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 13 points. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Eimantas Narusis (200-86) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 8 rebounds and forward Raimundas Ambrulaitis (200-82) who added 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Ezerunas-Karys players scored in double figures. Power forward Laurynas Birutis (213-97) responded with 20 points and 6 rebounds and guard Kristupas Zemaitis (192-96) scored 8 points and 7 assists. Ezerunas-Karys (8-25) moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Petrochema. Zalgiris II at the other side dropped to the fifth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Perlas-MRU. Ezerunas-Karys will play against higher ranked Palanga (#9) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Zalgiris II will have a break next round.
